We are seeking a self-motivated, intelligent and responsible accounting/audit talent to join our consulting team in our Seattle or Tacoma, Washington office.
Position Overview
The experienced IT Audit Consultant will work as part of a team to conduct objective and independent evaluations of Financial Services Company information technology activities to evaluate whether appropriate controls are in place and functioning effectively, that overall IT security is risk appropriate, that processing is efficient and accurate, and systems procedures are in conformity with company standards. This position has significant opportunity for advancement as well as personal and professional growth.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
> Plan, conduct, and lead integrated audits and reviews of general IT controls, system access security, and application system controls to ensure the processes and data are in compliance with legal requirements on behalf of RSM McGladrey clients.
> Review and analyze risks inherent in technology operations underlying the business.
> Coordinate projects including network security assessment, PCI readiness, vendor management, change management and data access and security.
> Prepare, execute and document testing procedures and outcomes, perform detailed analysis and recognize relevant financial statement issues.
> Analyze IT environment including: operating systems, applications, infrastructure, policies and procedures.
> Identify and communicate any control issues, process inefficiencies, or operational risks and recommend appropriate solutions.
> Responsible for timely submission of draft reports for supervisory review.
> Provide knowledge and guidance of insurance laws, rules, and regulations related to IT controls and remain abreast of emerging trends and best practices in the industry.
> Review and analyze new, proposed, or revised laws, regulations, policies, and procedures in order to interpret their meaning and determine impact to the company.
Qualifications
> BS in MIS, Computer Science, or Accounting; MBA and/or professional certification/s preferred
> Minimum of 6 years professional experience in public accounting, preferably Big 4, and Financial Services/ Insurance Industry exposure
> CISA, CISSP, CPA, CIA or PMP designations preferred
> Strong understanding of information systems, risk assessments and controls review
> Knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley, COBIT framework, SAS 70, and data extract software
> Knowledge of technical areas; network security, distributed computing HW/SW, change management methodology, IT control best practices, Microsoft and non-Microsoft operating platforms.
> Experience with IT security in the following areas: Windows XP/2000/NT, Unix, routers, switches, database environments, web security, firewall and IDS/IPS, RACF, ACF2, z/OS, wireless
> Demonstrated problem solving skills
> PC skills, including experience in using software for producing presentations, spreadsheets, and project planning.
> Demonstrated history of project management experience
> Ability to interact with all levels including executives and senior managers
> Strong interpersonal, presentation, analytical and statistical sampling skills
> Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, projects and assignments
> Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are required
> Dynamic/flexible demeanor with exceptional client service skills
