JOB DESCRIPTION:  MANAGER OF BUDGETING AND FINANCIAL ANALYSIS

REPORTS TO:   VICE PRESIDENT OF FINANCE

 

POSITION SUMMARY

The Manager of Budgeting and Financial Analysis reports to the VP Finance and is responsible for planning, coordinating, presenting, implementing, and internal reporting on the Company’s annual budget and  12 to 18 month rolling forecast.

 

Preferred Experience: MBA with People management experience with at least 5-7 years of financial planning and forecasting within a major corporate environment

 

Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesFacilitate the annual budget and budget modification process, including preparing meeting agenda and timelines, leading budget kick-off and planning meetings, developing company-wide assumptions and working with functional managers to ensure that milestones are met timely and efficiently.Oversee the creation, dissemination, and implementation of budget related policies and procedures that will ensure consistency and assure management of the integrity of the budget.Create and maintain a twelve month rolling forecast for the Company including income statement, balance sheet and cash flow.  This will require working the each functional area executive.Maintain and enhance the Company’s use of the budgeting and forecast tool FRX Forecaster.People Manager over Financial Analyst (s)Oversee the timely generation and distribution to executive and departmental management of reports and analysis of actual versus budget and actual versus forecast.Prepare a monthly “Board Book” and distribute to the CEO and CFOPrepare on a quarterly basis financial analysis and presentations for the Board of Directors.Conduct regular analysis of revenue and expense trends to determine if modification of original assumptions is warranted or if issues exist that require the attention of executive management

Skills, Knowledge & AbilitiesStrong working knowledge of financial concept and accounting and the ability to apply this knowledge to detailed financial analysis.Demonstrated skill in financial analysis; preparing operating budgets and plans, and working cross functionallyProven solid analytical and problem solving skills.Excellent communications and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with peers,, leadership, employees, and internal/external business partners/clients.

 

Education and Experience:BS or BA in Accounting, Finance or related field is required; CPA or MBA preferred Minimum of five to seven years of relevant work experienceAdvanced proficiency with Microsoft ExcelExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong leadership and management skillsSupervisory/management experience preferred
