Manager of External Reporting

Aleris International, Inc. is currently seeking a Manager of External Reporting to join the Corporate Accounting team at our Corporate office in Beachwood, Ohio.  The Manager of External Reporting is primarily responsible for assisting with technical research, drafting and supporting SEC filings, providing support to other areas of Corporate finance in relation to business unit analyses provided to management and externally, providing limited support to the Corporate Accounting department in the monthly close and assisting with coordination of the external audit process.

 

Responsibilities Include:

Responsible for coordinating and compiling information needed to support SEC filingsAssist with preparation and review of quarterly filings with the SEC on form 10-Q and annual filings on form 10-K Assist with planning, coordination, preparation and review of offering memoranda and any related SEC filings e.g. S-4, S-1Includes coordination with internal and external auditors, internal and external legal counsel, third party printers, etc. Key points of contact include director through vice president level employees involved in Corporate financial functions, business unit personnel, legal personnel, external legal counsel, third party printer and external audit personnel.  Prepare pro forma financial information for acquisitions and divestitures for inclusion in any related SEC filings as well as management reportsAssist with research and documentation of technical accounting issuesAssist with year end audit requests and coordination with external and internal auditorsWork with other departments within corporate finance group to ensure the integrity of information reported to senior management and externallyAssist with the completion and audit of financial statements of the Company’s benefit plans (e.g. planning and coordination with external auditors, human resources and actuaries)Work on other functions related to the corporate closing process as neededWork with business unit financial management in support of the monthly financial statement close process as necessaryComplete/assist with other projects as needed

Requirements Include: 

Bachelor’s Degree in accounting

  4-6 years in public accounting or equivalent industry experience preferred

CPA certification is a plus

Oracle and/or Hyperion experience is a plus

SEC reporting and technical accounting experience is a plu
