Manager of Finance and Accounting

 

Greater Boston Companies is a Boston based real estate investment and lending company. The Company is privately owned and has been in business for over twenty years. The casual office environment consists of a small team of highly motivated, dedicated, and responsible individuals.

 

The position offered is responsible for overseeing all financial operations of numerous entities. The entities include a real estate holding company, a real estate lending company, and various LLC. holdings. The candidate will work closely with and under the direction of the owners of the company. The ideal candidate will be able to prioritize daily challenges and work towards completion with accuracy. Candidate must be well versed in the use of Microsoft Excel. The various responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

Private Lending Loan Accounting

Ø  Verify and calculate loan payments, handle posting of borrower payments and charges, analyze request for payoffs, reconcile bank credit lines, reconcile bank account, process credit line advance requests, fund real estate closings,

 

Cash Management and Planning

Ø  Track cash positions via a sources and uses report, budget and plan accordingly to fund real estate acquisitions and lending operations

 

Payroll and Benefits Management and Processing

Ø  Track and monitor  payroll on a biweekly basis

 

Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Reporting and Licensing

Ø  Preparation of financial reports for various entities, process annual renewal for Banking Commission

 

Budget Preparation

Ø  Review annual budgets and compile budgeted vs actual reports

 

Oversight of Staff Accountant and Monthly Payables

Ø  Work with staff accountant to ensure payment of payables

 

Accounting and Bank Reconciliations

Ø  Process various monthly payments and bank reconciliations

 

Year End Tax Preparation

Ø  Compile reports and work with company’s CPA in the completion of annual tax returns

 

The opening of this position is due to the fact of the current manager pursuing a law degree as a full time student. The employee has been here for three years since graduating Boston University. Substantial training was provided. The current manager is gracefully exiting this position on July 15, 2008. The ideal candidate would be able to start upon two weeks of hire in order to fulfill the training requirements prior to the current manager’s exit.

 

Qualifications

 

Ø  Highly versatile in Microsoft Word and Excel, strong accounting and financial analytical skills, ability to work with high level of accuracy, ability to draft letters and various correspondence, a 4 year undergraduate degree in either Accounting or Finance, or Economics
