Manager of Technical Accounting

Manager of Technical Accounting, Denver, CO

 

We are looking for an individual to oversee all technical accounting matters and special projects for our successful and growing company. This position allows for interaction with senior executives in the corporate accounting groups. The individual will be in charge of technical accounting, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, and general accounting, and will report to the Controller.

 

Responsibilities include:

* Assist with the accurate preparation and timely submission of all SEC reports (Form 10K, 10Q) including preparing consolidated financial statements and footnotes, and preparing MD&A and supporting financial data tables and schedules.

* Prepare and review internal and external financial reports.  Ensure that all reports comply with governmental regulations, professional standards and organizational policies.

* Assists in ongoing compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements including responsibility for monitoring balance sheet reconciliation.

* Identify and resolve technical accounting issues
* Implement new accounting policies and procedures as necessary

* Assist with merger, acquisition, and divestiture modeling, due diligence and integration.

* Oversee the growth and development of the department team.
* Provide training to internal accounting groups upon implementation steps and related systems recommendations

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• CPA (Big 4 Public Accounting experience a plus)
• MBA preferred
• Demonstrated technical accounting skills and extensive knowledge of GAAP and internal controls, including recent and current accounting guidance and updates
