The Managing Director is responsible for implementing the vision and strategy of the New York practice. Through effective leadership, the Managing Director drives the growth of the practice, our clients and our consultants. This position has accountability for all aspects of the practice including continuous improvement of the development and delivery of service, the development of solid teams and the achievement of the financial goals of the practice. The Managing Director is an active member in the business community often sought out by his/her peers for professional advice. Creatively and entrepreneurially operate in the market consistent with the framework established by the senior management team. Provide senior management with intelligence on market trends and develop original strategies for achieving increased penetration on new accounts. Monitor key performance indicators and quickly establish programs to improve market performance. Work with team to create marketing and selling programs aligned to meet the demands of prospective and current clients. Business Development Develop solid client relationships through networking, and account calling that constantly drives for face-to-face meetings. Be consultative to all current and potential clients as to ways in which all divisions of this privately held firm can add value to resource and project needs. Constantly evaluate the market, its referral sources and the competitors of the firm in order to constantly position the firm appropriately. Price all engagements with the appropriate consideration to brand image, utilization, and profitability of the firm. Be an integral part of the business community through active board, civic or professional association involvement. Client Service Creatively bring real value to our clients through the delivery and management of quality service. Communicate and interact with our clients on a timely, consistent basis in order to continuously monitor our achievement of each client’s expectations, to monitor each client’s satisfaction with the performance both of Firm and of our professionals, and to proactively uncover opportunities to expand our business relationships. Develop and implement the tools and processes necessary to formally secure each client’s feedback relative to the performance of the firm. Team Development Identify, select, hire, and retain a solid market team assuring synergy between the members and constant teamwork. Properly plan and schedule consulting job orders to assure effective utilization of each consultant. Develop, implement and elevate orientation and training programs to prepare, educate and develop firm professionals. Communicate and interact with each team member on a timely, consistent basis in order to maintain an understanding of each team member’s progress, challenges, achievements and state of mind. Assist in the evaluation and communication of each team member’s performance relative to the firm and client expectations on a timely basis. Provide counsel and direction as appropriate to assist in the development of each team member’s career. Constantly communicate and provide direction to the team. Create forum to ensure exchange of information, monitor morale, develop skills, and identify opportunities to elevate our service and capabilities and to help create a positive, team-based culture that integrates with the overall firm culture. Key Qualification and Competencies: Minimum Requirements · A minimum of 10 years managerial experience in a professional services industry· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, MBA or related masters preferred· A CPA and/or MBA with relevant experience in a national public accounting or consulting firm· Strong communication skills – written and oral· Proven client and business development skills· Enthusiastic, entrepreneurial and driven
