Manufacturing Financial Analyst
Our client has engaged our services to locate a cost/financial analyst for its Southern Indiana area facility. The successful candidate will help drive operational decision-making by providing insightful financial analysis and reporting. Specific responsibilities include the development of product costs, analysis of manufacturing efficiencies, inventory analysis and valuations, assist with the annual budget process, participate in monthly closing activities, lead the operations forecasting process and analysis of monthly financial results. This position is expected to improve the efficiency of business and financial processes. Additional responsibilities include: Perform sales, cost and margin analysis by product line, customer, market segment, etc. Partner with Operations and Engineering to develop product costs of new products and implement, monitor and evaluate productivity improvement programs Understand and provide enhancements to current costing system Develop accurate standard costs for all products including review of bills of materials, establishment of overhead and labor rates and review of material standards Analyze overhead, material, and labor variances Reconcile inventory, analyze excess and obsolete and participate in an inventory reduction team Serve as a financial and business resource for the manufacturing and engineering organizations Identify potential cost improvements and make recommendations Manage inventory including cycle counts, inventory accuracy, inventory adjustments, reconciliations Monitor and report production yields and work with Supervisors to research variances and develop process improvements Responsible for various month end closing activities including journal entry preparation, balance sheet reconciliation, and report preparationQualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related degree 3+ years of progressive cost and general accounting experience in a manufacturing environment Demonstrated hands-on competency in cost accounting and analysis, systems applications, financial planning/modeling and cost accounting concepts, application and procedures Strong team, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently and within a team environment, handle multiple tasks, exercise sound judgment, meet commitments and demonstrate initiative in a rapidly changing environment Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office with expertise in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and AccessIf you are looking to have an impact in a progressive work environment, and feel that you meet the above specifications, you should submit your resume to Al Gmutza at fortmtv@insightbb.com as a Microsoft Word document or in “.rtf” format.
