Mutual Fund Accountant Summary

My client is searching for a strong Mutual Fund Accountant.

Mutual Fund Accountant Duties & ResponsibilitiesPerform day-to-day operations of multiple mutual funds.Enter and monitor general ledger activity.Work with internal and external parties to resolve trade, cash and income discrepancies.Perform reconciliations with the custodian and sub-advisors. Accurate and timely calculation of daily Net Asset Values of several mutual fundsResearch and resolve cash and security reconciliations to custodian bank using Bloomberg and other resources.Evaluate income and expense accruals. Instruct on short term investment trades based on available cash. Prepare monthly reconciliation reports and semi-annual SEC filings.Work on various projects as assigned.

 

 

Essential Mutual Fund Accountant Skills & CharacteristicsBachelor's in Accounting or Finance requiredPrior mutual fund or hedge fund experience requiredAbility to identify and effectively communicate issues affecting assigned fundsPrior financial services experience Strong communication skills a must both interpersonal and written
