Network Administrator
We are on a search for an experienced ambitious Network Administrator for Tallahassee, Florida (FL) location!
Preference will be given to those candidates who have experience in financial institutions, banks, credit unions, etc., whether it is in house or in a consulting capacity.
GENERAL SUMMARY:
The primary responsibility of the Network Administrator will be to ensure that our technical infrastructure operates on a daily basis with a minimum of down time. The candidate will accomplish this through a structured program of preventative maintenance and security enhancements. Full knowledge of the LAN/WAN and Microsoft's Active Directory architecture is mandatory for this position. An in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Exchange/Outlook email programs is necessary.
JOB DUTIES:
-Will perform job duties in accordance with policies established by the Board of Directors under the rules and regulations set by the State of Florida.
-Be responsible for the design & implementation of our Local Area and Wide Area network architecture.
-Select, recommend for purchase, program and install all switches and routers on the proprietary network. Issue TCP/IP addresses as needed.
-Ensure that the network is operating in an efficient and secure manner through the configuration and monitoring of the Firewalls, Intrusion Prevention System and VPN devices.
-Assist third party partners in the interface with our network and systems.
-Prepare staff computers to go into service, including re-imaging, changing peripherals as necessary, and installation of the machine in the user area.
-Install and monitor the Internet access filter, SPAM filter, anti-virus and authorized software programs.
-Perform regular preventative maintenance on all server and microcomputer level equipment.
-Provide training to the Network Technician, as necessary, in the use of specialized network and server equipment, and prepare this position to back up the Administrator as required.
-Provide help desk support as needed to users both over the phone, network and at their location, with the objective of returning the PC to service as soon as possible.
-Oversee the moves and instrument changes to the phone system utilizing the Nortel Optivity system. Assist with the administration of the Nortel Call Pilot Unified Messaging system, and voice mailboxes, and provide training to other I.T. staff as necessary.
-Provide our staff with an Internet & E-Mail product that is productive, safe and properly secured, being mindful of the balance between security and productivity.
-Have as a first priority to protect member information by utilizing a secure perimeter of firewalls and programmable routers and internal monitoring.
-Backup the Director of I.T., Computer Technician and the Computer Operator as necessary.
Requirements:
EDUCATION:
Must have post high school education, which may include college, accredited technical schools or military training.
EXPERIENCE:
8-10 years IT experience as a Network Administrator or System Administrator, preferably in the financial services industry, a bank or a credit union, or in the computer services area that works with these types of institutions is desirable but not required.
SKILLS:
Full knowledge of the LAN/WAN, 2003 Active Directory, Exchange Server, VPN, Firewall Management, Cisco knowledge, and Phone Switch is required. Must have experience installing, servicing & troubleshooting problems with Windows 2000 and 2003 servers and computers. Experience in setting up Virtual Private Networks. Some knowledge of Exchange/Outlook, M/S Office, Internet Explorer, and Adobe. Familiarization with Nortel switches would be advantageous. Working in Structured Query Language or other DBMS would be a plus. Web development with HTML is also desirable but not required.
