OIL AND GAS ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST

The Oil and Gas Accounting Specialist is primarily responsible for receiving Joint Interest billings; determining and applying appropriate codes for invoices; using PetroData system to apply payments to trust and agency accounts; processing distribution transactions on the Trust System; preparing reports and researching problems; and collecting working interest ownership information to pay yearly insurance.QualificationsThorough knowledge and understanding of oil and gas operations and terminology. Thorough knowledge of general accounting principles. Excellent PC and software application skills (Word and Excel), ability to operate a 10 key by touch.Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Good math skills and ability to understand/calculate percentages and fractions.This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of an Associate's Degree in Accounting or Finance and 2-3 years experience in the oil and gas industry or 5-6 years equivalent experience in the oil and gas industry preferably oil and gas accounting.
