Req ID: 2128Job Title: Operations Risk Specialist - SIRA OfficeGroup: Corporate GroupLocation: HO - New York, NY (Head Office)Job Status: Full-Time Area Overview: The SIRA Office administers three of the Bank's risk management programs: Operational Risk – Coordinates and administers the Bank’s Operational Risk Management Program which consists of a structured, integrated methodology for managers to identify and monitor operational and strategic risks.Business Continuity – Establishes and maintains the Bank's business continuity management framework and coordinates Bankwide business continuity related activities to ensure robust business continuity planning, awareness, and readiness across all businesses.Investment Review – Consults with business areas on the preparation of project proposals that are reviewed by the Investment Review Committee (IRC) and monitors the ongoing progress of projects approved by the Committee. The process is designed to ensure that solutions address defined business needs. Job Responsibilities: The successful candidate will enhance and support the FRBNY's operational risk management program, ensuring it continues to add value to the Bank's leadership team by:Consulting with business areas on operational risk management practices, including the maintenance of risk self-assessments and processes to track and escalate risk events; Analyzing risk self-assessments and other risk information (e.g., key risk indicators, risk events, control weaknesses) to develop meaningful reports and the FRBNY's operational risk profile for the Bank's Operational Risk Committee (ORC), Management Committee, and Audit Committee of the Board of Directors; Working with risk specialists and internal audit to identify and assist businesses in addressing key risks;Developing and tracking quantitative measures to monitor the level of Bank's operational risk; Proposing and implementing recommendations on how to integrate the Bank's various risk management processes (e.g. Sarbanes-Oxley, niSM, FISMA, Compliance); Supporting the ORC and Committee on Credit and Risk Management (CCRM) in the achievement of their risk management objectives;Promoting the analysis and discussion of cross-System operational risk issues, and representing FRBNY on System work groups to help shape the FRS's development of Enterprise Risk Management policies and framework;Sharing the FRBNY approach to operational risk management with other Reserve Banks to help them develop local operational risk programs; andParticipating in other SIRA objectives related to business continuity planning and investment review as appropriate.Position Requirements: Graduate degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or Statistics or equivalent work experience;Knowledge of risk management practices and processes and/or operational control principles;Familiarity with business process improvement methodologies;Demonstrated professional skills, including:The ability to assimilate new information quickly and excellent conceptual analytical skills;Well developed written and verbal communication and presentation skills; Highly developed interpersonal and client service skills; Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks/projects;Proven experience with project management.Experience interacting with and preparing reports or presentations for senior management;Skilled with using and managing automated systems (including advanced proficiency in applying Excel and Access) a plus; andThe ability to travel to other Reserve Banks as needed..
