PAYROLL/STAFF ACCOUNTANT

JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

 Stock Transactions:Apply necessary overrides to the daily Mellon File.Prepare Stock file and send to Payroll Analysts for processing and follow up to ensure transactions are input into PeopleSoft accurately and timely.Load and balance quarterly dividend files into PeopleSoft.

Deferred Compensation:Set-up DCP Annual Elections in PeopleSoft.Conduct the weekly audit of DCP to ensure correct amounts are transmitted to ADP.Process MDCP payments, as requested by Executive Compensation.

General Ledger:Participate with the processing of the Payroll/GL Interface to Oracle and SAP monthly.  Participate with the balancing and clearing of suspense items for all payroll entries to Oracle.  Provide support documentation to Finance, as needed, for Stock and MDCP payroll related GL entries.

Garnishments/Levys:Process garnishment/levy deduction payments and reporting.

Miscellaneous:Provide backup support to Payroll Analysts and Payroll Tax Analysts as needed.Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications (in order of priority):Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and communicate effectively with all levels of management.Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.Strong attention to detail.Ability to respond effectively to any changes within the work group's procedures.Excellent time management and organizational skills.Strong problem solving skills with an ability to effectively work in a team environment.Maintain confidential information with professionalism.Ability to work overtime based on organizational needs and fluctuations in workloads. Accounting Background desirable.Knowledge of PeopleSoft Payroll 8.3 or higher desirable.
