PROJECT CONTROLLER

The Resort Group, with Offices in Honolulu, Tarpon Springs, Orlando and Eleuthera, Bahamas is seeking a Project Controller for its new resort residential development project.  This is a excellent opportunity to join a fast growing resort residential development team on the ground floor of this exciting new project in the Bahamas. The position reports directly to the Managing Director.  Extensive Travel to the Bahamas is required.

 

 

DUTIES:

 

Implement new accounting system and procedures



Implement and maintain a system of internal control



Preparation of annual operating budgets and forecast



Preparation of monthly financial statements and other financial reports to partners



Responsible for project cash management/bank reconciliations/international wire transfers



Responsible for inventory controls



Responsible for the accounts payable and accounts receivable

 

Administration of the on-site Bahamian employee payroll.  Assure compliance with local Bahamian employment rules and regulations.

 

Assist the external CPA’s with annual financial review and tax administration/tax planning.

 

Assist the with the procurement of the required Business Insurance.

 

Assist the Managing Director with the preparation of development proforma and investment analysis.  

 

Perform other accounting related tasks as required

 

 

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:

 

BS in Accounting

MBA or Masters Finance a Plus

 

 

 

EMPLOYMENT BACKGROUND:

 

5 to 7 year real estate development experience preferred, hotel/resort/construction experience a Plus.  National CPA Firm Experience Helpful

 

SOFTWARE FLUENCY:

 

Peachtree, Timberline, Microsoft Office, Networking Background a Plus



QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Team player that will and work in tandem with Resort Group Staff and Vendors. Ability to manage multiple projects at one time (big picture and detail oriented at the same time). Exceptional people skills.  Must be willing to travel to and stay at Eleuthera, Bahamas for extended periods of time.
