PROPERTY ACCOUNTANT

LARGE, WELL KNOWN COMMERCIAL PROPERTY MANAGEMENT COMPANY, IS SEARCHING FOR A SENIOR PROPERTY ACCOUNTANT FOR THEIR DC OFFICEQUALIFICATIONS Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Accounting preferred. Experience: Three to Five years accounting experience required. Real estate experience preferred. Public accounting experience a plus. Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills required. Computer literacy required to include proficiency in the MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) in a Windows 2000 or later environment. Understanding of automated accounting systems required. Knowledge of MRI a plus. NATURE AND SCOPE PORTFOLIO ACCOUNTING: · Prepares monthly, quarterly and year-end reporting packages for their assigned properties including the following: · Variance report for each property; · Quarterly and year-end financial statements; · Monthly property bank statement reconciliation; · Straight line rent calculation; · Monthly update of Fixed Asset System. · Performs additional work as follows: · Prepares replacement reserve/leasing reserve escrow release packages; · Portfolio journal entries; · Inter-company notes reconciliation; · Monthly reconciliation of A/R and A/P sub-ledgers; corporate to portfolio; · Prepares all related party expense calculations for the properties; · Prepares cash basis journal entries; · Processes promotional administrative fees; · Reconciles all inter-company accounts; · Reviews and approves A/P batches; PORTFOLIO ACCOUNTING · Prepares budget templates; uploads data from Foresight into MRI; · Prepares work papers and financial statements, in preparation for annual/semi-annual audit process; · Sets up new entity IDs in MRI as directed; · Sets up new buildings in MRI as directed. TAX ACCOUNTING: · Prepares work papers for all assigned entities. CORPORATE ACCOUNTING: · Reviews and approves A/P batches; · Prepares personal property tax work papers; · Prepares all related party income calculations; reconciles to properties; · Prepares monthly financial statements; · Prepares work papers, as directed, in preparation for annual/semi-annual audit process.
