Partnership Accountant SS&C Fund Services – Northport Private Equity Group has an opening for a Partnership Accountant. Located in Cranford, New Jersey, the Northport Private Equity Group provides administrative solutions to the alternative investment industry. Northport offers a Suite of Services encompassing accounting, tax, treasury, applications, online reporting services and advisory solutions. Northport administers investment vehicles that include venture capital, private equity fund of funds, hedge fund of funds, mezzanine, buyout, real estate and employee carried interest plans.   Headquartered in Windsor, CT and with offices throughout North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia, SS&C provides the global financial services industry with a broad range of highly specialized software, business process outsourcing (BPO) services and application service provider (ASP) solutions. We deliver mission-critical processing for information management, analysis, trading, accounting, reporting and compliance.   Personal Characteristics Must be well organized and disciplined to work in a timely manner. The preferred individual is interested in the alternative investments industry and in an opportunity to contribute and excel in a fast-paced, small company environment.  Technical Characteristics 4+ years of accounting experience required (preferably with some public accounting). Experience in Private Equity or Hedge Funds a plus.  Responsibilities Maintenance of Existing Partnerships Develop and maintain client relationships Understand the client’s partnership agreement(s) in detail and all deliverables  Plan your work in order to meet client timetables and deadlines  Post and/or review all journal entries and prepare monthly trial balance reports Keep all journal entries for each Investment Vehicle and prepare required activity reports Reconcile bank accounts Track wire transfers received from investees Prepare and issue annual audited financial statements, in accordance with US GAAP for each entity Prepare quarterly financial reporting packages for client and/or investors. Maintain and update partnership investment data (number of shares, location of securities, country of origin) Coordinate audit with client’s audit firm Must be willing to work professional service firm hours.  US Citizen only.
