Partnership Tax Accountant

Partnership Tax Accountant   SS&C Fund Services – Northport, Private Equity Group has an opening for a Partnership Tax Accountant. Located in Cranford, New Jersey, the Northport Private Equity Group provides administrative solutions to the alternative investment industry. Northport offers a Suite of Services encompassing accounting, tax, treasury, applications, online reporting services and advisory solutions.  Northport administers investment vehicles that include venture capital, private equity fund of funds, hedge fund of funds, mezzanine, buyout, real estate and employee carried interest plans.   Headquartered in Windsor, CT and with offices throughout North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia, SS&C provides the global financial services industry with a broad range of highly specialized software, business process outsourcing (BPO) services and application service provider (ASP) solutions. We deliver mission-critical processing for information management, analysis, trading, accounting, reporting and compliance.  

Personal Characteristics Must be well organized and disciplined to work in a timely manner.

Technical Characteristics 2+ years of tax experience in partnerships, private equity and financial services a plus.

Supervisory Skills: Must be able to interact with others at various levels, but does not have any direct reports.

Responsibilities: Prepare Federal and State partnership tax returns and work papers utilizing RIA Go System Tax including: - Calculate & prepare foreign tax withholding tax forms - Prepare quarterly tax estimates - Prepare year-end projections Must be experienced with state filings Prepare book to tax income and expense adjustments Prepare and maintain federal, state, and local tax calendar Collect and review documentation to support tax return filings Perform research of relevant tax laws, regulations and rulings to determine proper tax treatment of issues Analyze company financial statements Respond to tax notices Knowledge of foreign reporting requirements a plus Proficiency in Excel Client interaction Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Team Player, attentive to detail and proven ability to multi-task Must be willing to work professional service firm hours.  We offer a competitive salary, bonus potential and excellent company benefits.
