Serco is looking for a Sr. Payroll Specialist to join our team at Corporate Headquarters in Reston, Virginia. The Sr. Payroll Specialist will maintain labor records, timesheets, and the payroll system and is responsible for computing, posting and uploading labor, leave and payroll.. You will be performing payroll processing activities such as labor entries, timesheet corrections, and assisting with supplemental check runs. In addition, you will be assisting with other specialized payroll reporting as well as supporting account analysis and managing all aspects of the Payroll Helpdesk. You may also be involved in filing and retrieving various documents and records as well as conducting research and analysis of certain financial data. Requires high school diploma or equivalent and 2 - 5 years experience in field or related area.Duties include:-Processing monthly and weekly payroll, entering child support, tax levy, educational reimbursement and court ordered garnishments.-Inputting direct deposit information with accuracy to ensure thatEmployee’s pay checks are deposited directly to their bank accounts.-Manually entering time sheet corrections to correct timesheet errors.-Assist in audits by collecting information requested by Auditor.-Respond to all email inquiries to resolve payroll issues.-Seal and sort all checks and direct deposits for biweekly payroll.-Provide customer support to internal and external employees via Payroll help desk line.Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Works under general supervision. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.Experience working for a large government contractor is preferred, but not required.Required SkillsSkills Required: Experience with Deltek Cost Point and requires high school diploma or equivalent and 2 - 5 years experience in field or related area.
