FIELD AUDITOR (TRUST ACCOUNTING)

KEY JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

 Audit books and records of contractors obligated to Taft-Hartley funds per policies and proceduresAnalyze to confirm all hours worked or paid have been previously reportedPrepare/complete work sheets for audits, using data from contractor’s employee filesReview pertinent sections of the Trust Agreement and collective bargaining agreement as a basis for the audit of the employer’s payroll related recordsTabulate audit totalsDiscuss preliminary audit results with supervisorQuestion/clarify results with contractor/representativeComplete audit billingsInterface with Trust and Union/Legal departments as necessaryParticipate in audit reviews, legal procedures and/or arbitration as necessaryProcess check stub claims for unreported hoursComplete other tasks as assigned

 

 

SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS

 Experience in a trust fund accounting position preferredExperience processing employer benefit report formsComputer proficiency in Excel, MS Word and OutlookMath proficiencyKnowledge of basic auditing/accountingExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong analytical skills

 

 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT

 High School Diploma/GED and minimum two years of college
