POSITION SUMMARY:
This individual will be responsible for the management of payroll processing in the JD Edwards payroll system.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
§ Exemplify our Kroger Core Values of Honesty, Integrity, Respect, Safety, Diversity, and Inclusion.
§ Responsible for managing the payroll processing in the JD Edwards payroll system.
§ Responsible for managing JD Edwards payroll department clerical staff.
§ Coordinate with the Payroll Accounting Manager to provide supporting documentation for the reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
§ Coordinate with the Payroll Accounting Manager on special projects that support the JD Edwards payroll process.
§ Communicate with Kroger Controllers, HR Directors, General Office, and Division personnel.
§ Interact effectively with other HRSSC areas.
§ Provide management with status and progress reports.
§ Other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
§ Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field.
§ Able to manage a large number of clerical staff effectively.
§ Good accounting and reconciliation skills.
§ Knowledge of accounting systems, processes, and controls.
§ 3-5 years of payroll experience, with knowledge of JD Edwards or other payroll systems.
§ Proficient skills and knowledge in the use of Excel and other PC software applications.
§ Good organization skills and the ability to function effectively in a multi-task environment.
§ Ability to preserve confidentiality of information.
§ Effective written and oral communication skills.
§ Ability to make intelligent decisions quickly and confidently.
§ Able to tactfully and calmly handle stressful situations.
§ Willing to travel as needed.
§ Willingness to be flexible and commit to the hours the workload demands.
§ Physical ability to access all necessary files.
