Perkins Loan Coordinator

 

This position will work closely with the Accounting Supervisor to facilitate the collection of the Perkins Loan.

 

Job responsibilities:

 

• Perform Default prevention activities.

• Process and review the weekly drops report.

• Complete Exit Interviews within 30 days from LDA

• Update CAMPUS PARTNERS for out of school students.

• Process returned mail properly.

• Preventing cohort students from entering default. Check NSLDS to see if the student is attending another Institution and then secure an in-school deferment form.

• Report new advances and new borrowers to CAMPUS PARTNERS.

• Make phone calls to the students until contact is made.

• Complete outstanding skip tracing.

• Conduct Entrance Interviews.

• Make sure the Perkins file is completed:

• On a monthly basis verify that CAMPUS PARTNERS reports and CARS are correct and up to date.

• Work with students with delinquent status.

• Properly assign borrowers to a collection agency.

• Review the collection agency reports.

• Mail student the Exit interview information packet via certified mail

• Monitor and perform follow-up actions on delinquent borrower accounts.

• Work with outside vendors that include but not exclusive to Sallie Mae and CAMPUS PARTNERS.

• Provide professional customer service to all clients with enthusiasm

• Process of Clearing “uncashed” refund checks.
