Plant Controller - Riverside, CA

Fleetwood Enterprises, Inc. is searching for a Plant Controller to join our organization in our Riverside motor home manufacturing facility. The Plant Controller is responsible for leading all facets of the finance, accounting, and control functions for the plant, including financial planning, reporting and analysis to ensure operating objectives are achieved.
 

Primary Responsibilities:

* Summarizes monthly, quarterly and annual financial results, analyzes comparisons to budgets, objectives, and prior periods, identifies and interprets key events, trends, and transactions impacting results.
* Provides input and analysis to maintain accurate General Ledger accounts.
* Directs all local plant accounting activities (payroll, accounts payable, billing, etc.).
* Plays a leadership role in monitoring and maintaining effective Internal Control Processes and helps establish and implement best practice of these processes.
* Provides timely and pertinent financial information and recommendations to guide the strategic direction of the plant.
* Analyzes and monitors material, labor and overhead variances along with plant controllable general and administrative expenses.
* Identifies, recommends and monitors plant cost reduction initiatives. Establishes working relationship with materials department and other functional areas to ensure inventory accuracy through cycle count programs, physical inventories, build station audits, etc.
* Trains accounting personnel and other functional areas in understanding Fleetwood’s accounting systems and financial objectives, creates a team atmosphere where all associates contribute toward achievement of goals, and serves as the financial and accounting expert in the plant to help achieve the plant objectives.
* Serves as a conduit between IT’s JD Edwards implementation and support team and the plant users to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner, including monitoring and disciplining users for repetitive errors that cause accounting reconciliations.



 

Job Requirements:

 

Education:

* The qualified candidate will possess a Bachelors Degree in Accounting. 
* CPA designation and/or Masters Degree in Business preferred. 

 

Experience:
* Five to ten years in manufacturing environment.

* Operations experience required.
* Two to three years experience in a supervisory or management position.

* Five years progressive accounting and management experience. 

 

Other:
* JD Edwards accounting systems experience a plus.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.

* Outstanding analytical skills. 
* Good training and presentation skills.
