Location: San Diego, CA 92101 Salary/Wage: DOE Status: Full Time, Employee Job Category: Accounting/Finance/Insurance Career Level: Experienced (Non-Manager) Company: Davidson Staffing Email: Apply by Email Portfolio Accountant Looking for an exceptional individual to fulfill the position of Portfolio Accountant at an established investment management firm.  This position reports directly to the Vice President, Finance; however, the position will work closely with the CEO and all other employees.  The candidate should be industrious, self-motivated and interested in working in a fast-paced environment.  Candidate must have a strong knowledge of accounting and at least one year of work experience in accounting (public accounting and four year degree a plus).  Accuracy and attention to detail, as well as the ability to perform under pressure, are critical for this position.  The hours of this position revolve around the stock market (i.e. beginning at 5am).  Duties include: a. Prepare daily portfolio valuation and activity reports. b.  Prepare daily profit and loss statement for the fund, including both realized and unrealized gains.c. Obtain daily stock borrows and assist in negotiating interest rates.d.  Allocate and book trades within the Prime Brokers’ systems.e. Work with closely with Prime Brokers ensuring accurate settlement of all investment transactions.f.  Work with CEO and Vice President, Finance in execution of various investment deals.g. Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for the fund and three other entities.h. Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual capital allocations for the fund.i. Assist Vice President, Finance in annual audit and tax return preparation.j.  Assist Vice President, Finance in monitoring ownership levels of the fund, as well as the preparation and filing of SEC reports.   This position offers a Blue Cross PPO, profit-sharing plan, annual bonus and 3 weeks’ vacation.  This is a salaried position - no overtime eligible.
