Principle Tax Advisor

Position Description: Provide state and local income and franchise tax research and planning for a large consolidated multi-state utility. Responsibilities include the development and implementation of tax efficient planning and structuring initiatives. The candidate will be required to assist in nation-wide legislative monitoring efforts, including the identification, tracking, and analysis of key state and local tax legislation. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of income tax accounting and will support state income tax forecasting efforts. A candidate will need to have advanced research skills, a high level of competency with tax research products and experience with Excel. Other duties will include document and contract reviews for tax considerations and supporting various state and local tax audits. Work Schedule: Some overtime may be required. Qualifications: Master's - Other Sciences;Candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, a Master's degree is preferred; and a CPA or LLM is required. A minimum 4 years of state or federal income tax research experience (state preferred), efficient research skill and strong communication skills.
