Proven Leader Needed for Controller Position!!!!

We have an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Controller possessing the ability to lead and the drive to succeed!

Our client, a Fortune 500 industry leader, is currently seeking a Controller with a broad range of experience in the accounting and banking industries.  This is a visible position, reporting to the CFO, with frequent interaction between state examiners, public accountants and industry professionals. Additional responsibilities include:

*  Developing business accounting practices and policies, meeting regulatory / management requirements
*  Accounting operations, reconciliations, accounts payable and OTS/OCC reporting
*  Directing consolidation, reporting and preservation of financial data
*  Directing financial statement preparation and filing
*  Assisting with new systems development to ensure financial data accuracy
*  Providing financial information to outside agencies and company offices

This position requires a dedicated professional who has experience working with various levels of professionals, both internal and external, and managing staff.  Additional requirements / skill sets include:

* Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance;  CPA and / or MBA preferred
*  10+ years proven experience, preferably from banking, financial services or insurance fields
*  5+ years proven management experience
*  Previous experience with internal controls (SOX 404), FDICIA and FASB
*  Working knowledge and experience with investment accounting, taxation and accounting policy
*  Peoplesoft knowledge, with an emphasis on GL conversions
*  GAAP and / or STAT accounting and systems
*  Must be able to analyze and solve accounting problems, interpret financial statements, analyze accounting cycles / flows
*  Superior communication skills (written and verbal)
*  Must be able and willing to relocate
