Purchasing Manager
RehabCare one of the nation’s largest managers of hospital based physical rehabilitationservices, has an opportunity for an Purchasing Manager. The ideal candidate will manages the purchasing activities for the Free Standing Hospital Division for new hospital start-ups and oversees purchasing activities for all free standing facilities as it relates to purchasing of supplies, materials, and services through RehabCare Hospital Holdings LLC Contracts or RehabCare’s GPO Contracts. This individual identifies and completes research for highest quality merchandise at the lowest possible purchase cost for supplies, materials, and services. Prepares and distributes all necessary bidding documents to prospective suppliers and completes analysis of returned bids and proposals. This highly visible role will train RehabCare purchasing employees, at the free standing hospital, on use of proper purchasing processes, electronic ordering and reporting systems, and GPO Electronic Catalog. This candidate will review, on an ongoing basis, pricing of purchased items and re-solicit bids or otherwise re-negotiate to ensure costs are kept as low as possible, ensure that purchase transactions are conducted in an ethical/legal manner and in the best interest of the company, ensure proper documentation of purchasing decisions and assist in the determination of disposable surplus property and its disposition. Researches product market information and GPO Contracts for all commonly used supplies. Under the direction of the Director of Contracts and Procurement, responsible for all ordering of equipment and supplies for all new start up facilities to include: Reports showing budget vs. actual pricing Log showing expected delivery, set up dates, and training schedules Reports showing received/open-on orderResponsible for new vendor account set ups and distributing new vendor and/or contract information to all free standing hospital purchasing departments. The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for Master Item File Maintenance for Med/Surg and Pharmacy and Central Supply Label Maker, will assist in providing product information to department heads and management for annual budget development, be responsible for all forms ordering (15th and 30th of each month) to ensure that minimum order quantities are met and updating appropriate purchasing department of any price changes and be responsible for dissemination of GPO Contract Information and Auditing Reports to the Sharepoint Site. Research PO price discrepancies to make sure we have received correct contract pricing. Candidate must have knowledge of purchasing principles and procedures and Microsoft Office Programs: Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook. This position will travel with overnight stay for new hospital start-up training sessions. The qualified Purchasing Manager will have a BS in Finance or Accounting, Institutional purchasing knowledge highly desirable and Certification desirable In return, you will have the opportunity to work for a company with twenty-five years of growth stability.
