Quality Control Manager

POSITION SUMMARYThe Quality Control Manager assists in developing and implementing quality control monitoring policies and procedures related to Grant Thornton International’s ( GTI’s ) member firms audit practices, including the GTI Audit Review ( GTAR ) Program. The GTAR program is an integral part of GTI's overall quality assurance monitoring procedures and under this program every member firm is subject to review at least once every three years.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES-Take a leading role in developing an internet-based practice monitoring system, including necessary training.-Assist the Global Quality Control Specialist in managing the GTAR program.-Identify which member firm and correspondent firms should be reviewed and when.-Update the GTAR program documentation as necessary-Coordinate the reviews including the selection of reviewers and scheduling.-Ensure that problem areas are dealt with appropriately.-Visit some firms during the review.-Communicate with others in GTI for follow-up of matters identified in GTAR reports.-Review the GTAR workpaper documentation submitted by the GTAR reviewers.-Monitor the action plans requested to member firms as part of the GTAR visit.-Maintain a database of reviewers, firms reviewed and summary of findings.-Monitor member firm’s compliance with International Statements on Quality Control.-Assist with the coordination and analysis of member firm’s annual Internal Quality Control Review program reports, including assisting in following up on findings noted.-Reports to GTI’s Worldwide Director of Quality Control.-Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict confidentiality in matters that require discretion.-Attend professional development and training sessions on a regular basis.-Perform other job-related duties as necessary and undertake other ad hoc projects as required.QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS-Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or an analytical discipline. -Certified Public Accountant license or an advanced degree such as an MBA or JD. -5-7 years of progressive audit experience in public accounting or in a regulatory environment-Strong technical auditing and accounting knowledge. -Keen interest in global developments.-Excellent problem solving and analytical skills. -Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
