R&R - Recovery & Reorganization Senior Associate
POSITION SUMMARY Grant Thornton’s Recovery & Reorganization Services Practice provides financial, operational and strategic advisory services to enterprises facing transition or performance challenges. With work with companies and their stakeholders to quickly evaluate the issues adversely affecting them, assess the strategic alternatives available, and create and execute a plan of action to deal with those issues. Clients include companies in all industries, private equity firms, hedge funds, major commercial banks, asset-based lenders, bondholder groups, government entities and unsecured creditors committees. Our services focus on turnaround consulting, advising on formal or informal restructurings, bankruptcy planning, process management, and advising on other corporate financial matters. By developing, designing, and implementing turnaround strategies, we assist companies with improving their operational and financial performance, reorganizing their balance sheet, developing refinancing options and implementing several operational changes to regain profitability. The services provided may include business and strategic planning, cash flow management, Chapter 11 planning and management, plan of reorganization development, asset rationalization, DIP financing, claims management, operational improvements and out-of-court restructuring, among others. The Recovery & Reorganization Senior Associate will assist in the development and implementation of programs to achieve client objectives. While working in a fast paced, dynamic environment, the Senior Associate will assist with business plan review and assessment, operational assessments, refinancing alternatives, cash flow and capital structure assessment, financial modeling and business valuation services to distressed and underperforming companies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: -Work in a team of professionals to develop and implement strategies to improve the financial performance of distressed or underperforming companies. -Gain understanding of the client’s financials and business objectives, and utilize that knowledge on engagements. Develop and maintain a good working relationship with clients and work effectively with the client at all levels to gather information and to perform restructuring services. -Analyze financial and operational results by reviewing accounting records. -Prepare and maintain sophisticated financial models. -Evaluate and monitor cash flow and liquidity. -Assess and document risk areas. -Analyze potential cost savings/reduction plans. -Evaluate accounting policies, practices, internal controls. -Provide negotiation support to other team members. -Identify operational challenges and constraints. -Provide guidance and mentorship to staff level team members working on assigned engagements. -Attend professional development and training sessions on a regular basis.Qualifications: -Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or similar degree, MBA a plus -CPA, CIRA, CFE, CVA CIRA and CFA designations a plus -4-7 years experience in auditing, transaction support, or restructuring -Team player, with the ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment -Excellent written and verbal communication skills -Strong analytical and critical-thinking ability -Willingness and ability to travel up to 100% Company:Grant Thornton LLPLocation:San Francisco, CAStatus:Full Time, EmployeeJob Category:Full Time, EmployeeEducation:Bachelor's Degree Company:Grant Thornton LLPReference Code:8115
