Real Estate Controller

SunTrust is currently seeking a Real Estate Controller.  This position is located in the Controller’s Department in Atlanta, Georgia.The Real Estate Controller will be responsible for providing accounting support which includes real estate specific accounting interpretations, accounting operations, effective internal controls, financial reporting, analysis, and GAAP accounting policies and procedures. Functions include Other Real Estate (Lending Repossessions/Relocations Houses), Fixed Assets, Leases, and Land Held.  The Controller will be responsible for the supervision and development of staff responsible for the above mentioned activities.  This individual will present and communicate the real estate financial results and the various initiatives and strategies to Finance senior management.   SunTrust is seeking candidates that have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting.  CPA, MBA and other financial certifications are a plus.  Candidate must possess a solid background in finance and accounting, including a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, management experience, excellent verbal and written communication skills, excellent analytical skills, strategic thinking skills, ability to interpret data and transfer into meaningful financial information that is used to drive business decisions.  Real estate experience is strongly desired.
