Recovery Specialist (Collector)

Description:Will primarily be responsible for negotiating payment arrangements on delinquent cardholder accounts to bring them current and/or prevent charge off. Will also initiate consumer contact; obtain relevant financial information; evaluate and assess credit and financial situation; negotiate repayment arrangements; mail form letters to customers to encourage payment of delinquent accounts; confer with customer by telephone in attempt to determine reason for overdue payment, reviewing terms of sales, service, or credit contract with customer; notify credit department if customer fails to respond; record information about financial status of customer and status of collection efforts; order repossession or service disconnection, or turn over account to attorney; sort and file correspondence; receive payments and post amount paid to customer account; and trace customer to new address by inquiring at post office or by questioning neighbors.Qualifications:-High school diploma or GED -Minimum six months collection or customer service experience preferred -Candidates need to successfully meet the requirements of the specific project or position (inquire with Human Resources) and obtain an acceptable score on job-related assessments -Must successfully complete and pass the FDCPA test -May be required to undergo and pass applicable background checks -Knowledge of a suite of office software packages West offers competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package.
