Reporting Advisory Services Manager - San Jose, CA The Deloitte Reporting Advisory Services (RAS) Group, headquartered in New York, has opened its services in the San Jose, CA (Silicon Valley) office.  Deloitte's Financial Reporting Advisory Services ("RAS") group offers assistance to clients on technical and transaction support including technical accounting and reporting guidance, ongoing US GAAP, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and Regulatory support to companies registered with the SEC in the US and outside US, and tailored project management to meet specific client needs.  RAS provides assistance to non-attest clients in such areas as: converting from US GAAP to IFRS or vice-versa; applying US GAAP or IFRS to a complex or non-routine transaction; implementing new US GAAP or IFRS standards or regulation; preparing financial statements and pro forma financial statements for an acquired entity; evaluating accounting policies for compliance or benchmarking purposes; assessing readiness for an IPO by identifying the relevant financial statement requirements and potential regulatory challenges; corresponding with the SEC in connection with comment or pre-clearance letters; training and updating personnel in IFRS, US GAAP and the SEC's filing requirements; preparing carve-out financial statements for an anticipated spin-off; complying with accounting standards for ongoing complex transactions; streamlining global statutory financial reporting under multiple GAAPs using IFRS as a common platform; implementing Extensible Business Reporting Language ("XBRL") for SEC or other regulatory filings; designing and maintaining web-based communication solutions that will communicate new GAAP and regulatory requirements in the client's organization.    The specialized skill sets, deep industry knowledge, and experience of our dedicated RAS professionals, combined with the resources of the Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu member firms, enable us to respond quickly to the complex and diverse needs of our clients.   We currently have opportunities in our San Jose, CA location for outstanding accounting professionals seeking to enhance his / her expertise in U.S. GAAP, the IPO process, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and SEC rules and regulations. MANAGER As a RAS Manager, you will be responsible for leading projects, developing and maintaining client relations, applying technical expertise to resolve complex financial reporting challenges, and managing business and staff development. You will also be responsible for managing, motivating and training other Deloitte professionals working on RAS engagements.   Profile of the ideal candidate:   §         outstanding client relationship skills §         six to eight years of public accounting experience with extensive US GAAP technical skills, SEC Filing experience (IPO experience is a plus), ability to analyze complex accounting transactions, and sensitivity to risk management issues.
