Restaurant Controller

Orange County based national restaurant company is seeking a Vice President – Controller of Restaurant Operations.   This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer,and is responsible for managing and controlling the company’s accounting functions.  The VP-Controller directs the preparation of financial reports that summarize and forecast the organizations financial position. 

Responsibilities of the Role:

 

· Forecast the cost related to food, labor and scheduling

· Ensure compliance with all company, federal and local laws and ethical business practices

· Prepare budgets, track actual performance against budget, and publish periodic updates exercising control to ensure expenditures do not exceed budget without senior management approval

· Interpret operating results as they affect the financial aspects of the operations and make specific recommendations to senior management, which will result in cost reduction and profit improvement

· Assume responsibility for the correct and accurate classifications of all expenditures and documents, including but not limited to capital and construction costs

· Oversee general ledger, accounts payable and receivable

· Supervise a staff of 3 direct reports with a total staff of 10

 

 

Additional Requirements:

 

Prior and proven Leadership experience in the Restaurant industry

Proven ability to execute on corporate objectives

Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills

Ability to establish necessary process and procedures to drive department efficiencies

Hands on focus with strong detail orientation

Strong systems experience helpful

Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field

CPA with public accounting experience preferred

3-5 years management experience
