Revenue Accounting Manager - Fortune 500 company

Fortune 500 hi-tech organization seeks a Revenue Accounting Manager for the Internet Services Division. The ideal candidate must be able to manage a department of 3-6 employees, including the revenue accounting activities on a daily basis and supervise the month-end process. Report to the Director of Finance and assist in providing technical accounting guidance, specifically Revenue Recognition, to ensure adherence to GAAP. Prepare accounting memos on the treatment for complex transactions and submit to Corporate.

Responsibilities:Review all new contracts and apply SOP 98-9, 97-2, and 81-1 to determine proper accounting treatmentCoordinate financials for international locations so they are submitted timely and accuratelyWork with Legal and Sales groups to provide guidance on contract negotiations with regards to revenue recognition issuesReview and approve monthly revenue recognition journal entries Provide support for the Quarterly Balance Sheet reviews on key contracts and accounting issuesPrepare financial analysis and management reports to Senior Management as needed

Qualifications:B.S. degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent. CPA and/or MBA preferredExperience with a large ERP package such as Oracle, PeopleSoft, or SAP.Minimum of ten years prior experience in Accounting/FinanceStrong technical accounting experience with an understanding of GAAPExperience reviewing contracts and excellent analytical skillsAble to work under multiple deadlines and excellent verbal/written communications
