Revenue Manager

Rapidly growing public software company located in Oakland is looking for a Revenue Accounting Manager who is  committed, hard-working, and operations-oriented to help us bring us to the next level. 

Reporting to the Controller, the resposibilities include:

Review customer contracts for compliance with company policy and revenue recognition accounting standards. Ensure that revenue accounting is correct and appropriate. Perform written analyses of all significant or unusual contracts. Prepare month-end reconciliations related to revenue and deferred revenue accounts. Coordinate with the sales force to ensure that all potential revenue issues are brought to management’s attention. Evaluate all new product offerings in the context of revenue recognition considerations. Work with external auditors to ensure efficient quarterly reviews and annual audits. Maintain and update where required the company’s revenue recognition policy and procedures. Work with Senior Accounting Manager to ensure that all required revenue controls are in place for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
Requirements:

CPA with public accounting experience At least two years’ experience with software revenue recognition, preferably in a large company, including knowledge of SOP 97-2 and related pronouncements. Excellent oral and written communications skills. Strong people skills, ability to work well with all levels within the organization. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word. Enjoy a fast-paced, constantly changing environment. Experience with Epicor, FRX, Crystal Reports and Business Objects a plus. Bachelor’s degree required. Post graduate degree a plus.
