The Confidential Search Company is an executive recruitment firm with over 25 years of experience placing administrative and financial managers and specialists in health care companies.
We have been engaged to conduct a search for a Revenue Manager for our client, Brigham & Women’s Physician Organization (BWPO). Brigham and Women’s Hospital is a 747-bed teaching affiliate of Harvard Medical School that employs 3,000 physicians, fellows and residents. B & W is a part of the Partner Healthcare organization.
The Revenue Manager will report to the Director of Finance and will supervise a Senior Revenue Analyst.
The Revenue Manager is responsible for directing, performing and collaborating in a wide variety of analyses related to revenue cycle systems and activities. They will develop, implement and maintain a system to complete periodic and ongoing reviews of the BWPO’s accounts receivable and reimbursement. Using a number of analytical tools and a variety of approaches (software, data analyses, and other research methods) the Revenue Manager will identify issues, investigate problems, and develop and implement solutions. Topics covered may relate to revenue cycle functions, revenue cycle systems, billing methodologies, inter institutional arrangements or new programs. A major responsibility will be the analysis of third party payments compared to expected payments per contractual terms, fee schedules, or other formal agreements and payment protocols.
The Revenue Manager will monitor and report on trends and opportunities, and determine when further investigation or corrective action is necessary. They will develop user friendly reports to routinely inform BWPO executive management and departments regarding such trends and variances.
The Revenue Manager will also lead and/or assist with a variety of projects, analyses and reports related to a variety of topical areas, including both revenue and non-revenue topics..
Ideal candidates will have
· a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or Healthcare
· a minimum of five years of experience working in a highly professional role in a healthcare setting which includes leadership responsibility for both performing analyses and developing recommendations based on the results
· Demonstrated proficiency with project management
· Excellent skill with spreadsheet, database, and presentation software
· Previous experience with academic medical centers highly preferred
Candidates must have excellent interpersonal skills; demonstrated customer service skills; the ability to use appropriate judgment, independent thinking and creativity when resolving customer issues; Excellent written and verbal communications skills; be highly organized and able to prioritize tasks; and the ability to excel in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
The starting salary for this position is up to $110k depending on background and experience. There may be some flexibility for an outstanding candidate. This is an excellent opportunity with a leader in the Boston healthcare market.
