Risk Analyst

Overview

 

Retail Decisions is a payment card issuer and a world leader in fraud prevention and payment processing.  In 2007, ReD was responsible for the checking of 14 billion card transactions. They are now looking for a specialist Analyst to work within the Risk Team. http://www.redplc.com/

Hours   35 hours, Mon- Fri, 09:00 to 5:00 PM with 1 hour for lunch

Compensation negotiable depending on experience + benefits

 

Specific Responsibilities

 

Working as part of a small team requires the successful candidate to be self-motivated and resourceful as well as having a good attention to detail and a sociable character.  Main responsibilities include:

 

· Work on projects that typically involve data access, data mining, data modeling, synthesis and interpretation/presentation of business implications

· Conducting risk assessments on historical e-commerce client data, to mitigate card-not-present processing of fraudulent transactions on the merchants website

· Derives statistical conclusions based on data patterns to make rule recommendations on results to optimize fraud detection and protect against fraud attacks and maximize legitimate sales

· Ability to communicate statistical conclusions and interpret statistical results effectively to non-statisticians is essential

· Create clear, concise documentation including graphs, tables and high-level summarization to support business cases and strategic recommendations

· Works with System Analyst to implement and verify rule recommendation strategies are in place and functioning properly


Experience and/or Minimum Qualifications

 

· Minimum Bachelor's (Graduate numerate discipline preferable) degree or equivalent work experience

· Significant related experience in statistical modeling and analysis experience is required

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

 

· Strong commitment to providing exceptional service

· Must work well in a team-oriented environment and independently

· High level of proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint

· Ability to create queries and manipulate data within MS Access or SQL is essential

· Experience in standard statistical application software (Statistica, etc.)

· IBI FOCUS experience desired,  but not required

· Experience of working in a client focused organization within a business-to-business environment

· Experience creating client presentations from primary data source through to finished presentation

· Knowledge of the payments or e-commerce industry a distinct advantage
