Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for building the commercial/SEC side of the business and attracting the talent to work on such engagements.  He/She will develop the vision, strategies and action plans to grow the audit practice and then drive such strategies and action plans for the audit practice to the desired growth and budget.  The successful candidate will interview staff and be responsible for the training, growth and retention of such staff.  He/She will look at staff utilization in the office and measure how people are doing against the business plan.  This person will put processes in place and ensure that all procedures and quality control standards are being followed.  The candidate will be strong technically, but will also display the ability to develop business through identifying and meeting with prospects, attending industry meetings and becoming a member of trade organizations.  A high energy, entrepreneurial, proactive individual, this person will be responsible for leadership, business development and client service. 

 

Qualifications:

The perfect candidate will have…BS in Accounting or Finance CPA and Masters strongly desired 10 or more years experience with a large local, regional or national accounting firm as well as significant SEC experience.  The preference is for someone with a demonstrable background in building a discipline area or practice unit. Strong working knowledge of GAAP, SEC regulations, FASB pronouncements, and technical accounting literatureA successful record of directing and assigning staff and seniors on multiple engagements.  Must share responsibility for developing staff. A proven track record of managing client relationships
