Sales Tax Compliance Auditor

Broussard Partners & Associates, Inc. is a sales/use tax compliance auditing firm located in Houston, Texas (Clear Lake City area).  We are seeking degreed accountants for multiple sales tax auditor compliance positions due to promotions and growth of the company. As an auditor for Broussard Partners & Associates, your duties will include gaining an understanding of sales tax laws, scheduling audit appointments, analyzing corporate records for tax compliance, preparing reports summarizing audit findings, and negotiating with taxpayers on tax assessments.  A portion of your work will be performed outside the office, at the taxpayers’ place of business.  When in the office, we have a casual office environment and flexible work schedules for work/life balance.  Our benefits package includes health, dental and vision insurance after thirty days of employment as well as matched 401(K) contributions after six months of employment.

 

Qualifications Audit experience is preferred, but not necessary. This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a minimum GPA of 3.0. General understanding of accounting principles and transactions with the ability to analyze tax sensitive general ledger accounts. Proficient with Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel and Word. Must be willing to travel 30-40% within the United States. Works independently with minimal supervision. Effective communication skills with the ability to communicate in a clear & concise manner, both orally and in writing. Time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and execute assignments according to the Audit Plan timelines.   Team player who interacts and works well with individuals at all levels of the organization.
