Salary $45,000 - $55,000 DOE Senior Accountant

Job Description

Looking to move your career to the next step?  CHARO is a diversified non-profit specializing in serving small businesses.  You can become a part of an exciting team that creates over 300 new jobs annually for California and brings in over $30mm in procurement contracts to California businesses.  A $3.6mm diversified non-profit, CHARO is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant looking to fast track their career and make a positive contribution to the community.

General Duties:

 

· Reports to Accounting Manager.

· Responsible for preparation and processing of multi-government cost centers, bank reconciliations, general and subsidiary ledgers, AR, AP and Payroll process and journals, and government financial reports.

· Prepares cost allocations, cost controls, trial balances, and provides accounting support in accordance with GAO/GAAP/FASB, CAS and OMB-A122 regulations utilizing Great Plains and Microsoft Excel.

· Other duties as assigned.

 Qualifications:

 

Degree in Accounting with three (3) years experience in fund accounting set up, multi-government funding a plus, including general ledger analysis and subsidiary ledgers, AP, AR, PR, cost allocation, and cash management.  Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access) for Windows.  Knowledge of Quatro Pro, Great Plains or similar accounting package required.  Must have good English skills, time management and interpersonal skills with ability to follow through.  Applicant must be bondable and possess a private vehicle with appropriate auto insurance coverage and valid driver’s license.  Applicant must meet minimum qualifications for consideration and may be required to submit to a drug screening and fingerprinting.
