Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant Responsibilities:  Perform initial research of accounting issues and prepare “white paper” to be submitted to the VP Finance and the Senior VP/ Chief Accounting Officer of the company. Respond to queries from regional controllers and accounting manager with respect to interpretation and implementation of existing corporate accounting policies.  In addition will be responsible to maintain a FAQ list of these queries. Conduct training seminars on new accounting pronouncements and provide implementation guidance to our worldwide accounting organization. Liaise with external auditors to assess compatibility and appropriateness of Corporate accounting policies. Responsible for the month-end accounting related to our facility and equipment lease activity.  On a quarterly basis, this individual will also be responsible for preparing and coordinating the lease commitment footnote for 10-Q/10-K disclosure purposes. Assist with merger and acquisition activities as required  Requirements:  4 to 6 years of relevant work experience. Public Accounting experience is preferred Solid accounting technical skill with a degree in Accounting/Finance.  Demonstrated critical thinking capability with complex theoretical accounting issues.
