Senior Accountant - Fixed Assets

Our client, a privately-held distribution company based in Florida seeks a Senior Accountant to be responsible for transactions impacting the Company’s fixed assets. 

Position Description

Primary duties are to include:

· Determining proper accounting treatment of fixed asset acquisitions, retirements, and transfers according to established accounting practices and procedures

· Inputting and maintaining the fixed asset system, including reconciliation of account balances and preparation of the monthly capitalization and depreciation journal entries

Additional responsibilities are to include:

· Research, analyze, and prepare reports on fixed assets including additions, disposals, and depreciation for Financial Reporting and Audit purposes

· Review Accounts Payable postings to the General Ledger for fixed asset related purchases for accuracy including reclassifications and adjustments, directs periodic inventories of fixed assets and assigns inventory numbers to new acquisitions

· Assists with fixed assets/capital expenditures annual budgeting process

· Maintains knowledge of GAAP, FASB, and IRS pronouncements and performs other duties as assigned by the Corporate Controller.

Requirements:

· Two or more years direct responsibility for Fixed Assets Accounting via industry or public accounting

· Preference for candidates with experience in the use of FAS (fixed assets software tracking system)

· Bachelors degree in Accounting or related business discipline required

· CPA preferred

Compensation:

· $45,000 to $55,000
