Senior Accountant

Sophisticated private equity firm in Los Angeles is looking for a sharp Senior Accountant to work directly with the Accounting Manager to perform all accounting functions for the company's private equity funds.  Responsibilities include:
" Preparation of quarterly and annual GAAP financial statements for market value private equity funds (funds invest in high-yield bonds, subordinated debt with warrants, convertible / redeemable preferred stock, common stock, and other structured securities)
" Review of capital call and distribution notices
" Preparation of equity distribution waterfall calculations
" Preparation of various tax reporting and tax compliance (OID accounting, partnership K-1's, and corporate taxation) schedules
" Analytic review of fund performance including performance of funds (rates of return)
" Maintaining documentation of accounting policies and procedures
" Primary contact and coordinator for auditors
" Various special projects/reports for both internal and external use

REQUIREMENTS:

3 - 4 years public accounting experience preferred
CPA preferred

" College degree
" Public Accounting experience preferred
" Licensed (or candidate for licensure) CPA preferred
" Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
" Strong excel skills
" Ability to balance multiple tasks
" Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
" Strong knowledge of GAAP
