Senior Accountant- Contract to Hire

Accounting Principals specializing in the placement of accounting and financial professionals is currently seeking a Senior Accountant for a contract to hire opportunity with a dynamic company.  Our client, located in North Dallas is seeking a Senior Accountant for a contract to hire opportunity to join there progressive group of employees. The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business (with an accounting emphasis) Three to five years corporate accounting experience preferred CPA desirable, but not required General knowledge of GAAP. Skilled in math application. Detail oriented. Strong spreadsheet and analytical skills Experienced with Oracle and MS Office applications Candidate must have excellent communication skills. No specialists, ie: fixed asset accountant or payables accountant. Need broad accounting skills working with multiple entities. Full cycle, month-end close, journal entries Job Duties: Prepares standard and specialized financial reports according to generally accepted accounting procedures. Performs financial analyses to summarize current and projected company financial results. Recommends methods and procedures to improve accounting processes. Operates under minimal supervision. May provide work direction and training to less experienced accounting staff. Provides assistant to the field in researching and understanding financial statements. Key Responsibilities: Prepares financial reports Performs financial analyses Performs month end close duties, including preparing and recording journal entries, analyses and financial reporting Reviews accounts payable invoices for accuracy of GL account coding Prepares Forecasts and Budgets Prepares variance analyses Recommends methods and procedures to improve the functioning of the accounting department Works closely with personnel in other departments to ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures Maintains balance sheet reconciliations Special projects THIS WILL PAY 52 to 55K WHEN IT GOES PERM!
