Senior Accountant - Corporate Accounting
Supervise and help enhance the skills of the Corporate Accounting staff in their completion of journal entries, reconciliations, management reports and audit requests. Maintain accounting policies and operations of accounting systems, budgeting and financial report preparation.Assist in research projects and presentation, as well as, other ad hoc projects. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for planning and coordinating the general ledger (G/L) maintenance, report preparation and operating/financial statistics, including the accuracy of the balance sheet and profit and loss (P&L) accounts. RESPONSIBILITIES: ? Responsible in the collection, recording, analysis and reporting of accounting transactions. ? Supervise two (2) Staff Accountants in their day-to-day activities, including coordination and administration of assignments, as well as, providing guidance and leadership to accounting staff. ? Responsible for coordinating and supervising the maintenance of the G/L and for the production of various resultant financial statements. ? Ensures the accurate compilation, analysis and reporting of accounting data and revenue through performing monthly account reconciliation and monthly management reports. ? Design operational procedures and processes that meet audit standards and improve efficiency and ensures integration of data procedures into systems and supports objectives of financial analysts. ? Maintains the efficient operation and cost-effectiveness of operating systems and programs. ? Responsible for the analysis of financial transactions related to the adequacy of inventory reserves. ? Participates in annual audits, as well as, special and departmental projects, as necessary. REQUIREMENTS: ? Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a minimum of four (4) years experience preferably in Corporate Accounting. ? Advanced knowledge and understanding of accounting operations, practices and procedures. ? Strong supervisory skills such as: leadership with the ability to build strong, working/team relationships, the ability to determine and set priorities, the ability to readily identify needs and requirements and establish plans and processes to ensure successful results. ? Proficient in using G/L software, especially with spreadsheets and presentation tools, but also with tools for reports, audits and presentations (i.e. MS Word, Excel, Access, 10-key, Oracle, etc.) ? Effective communication (both verbal and written) and presentation skills. ? Keen analytical and decision making skills with a successful track record of managing a large scale accounting function. ? Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification and/or Big 4 public accounting experience preferred, but not required. Contact Information Reference Code:1899
