Senior Accountant, Corporate Accounting

CALAMOS INVESTMENTS is a trusted global investment firm headquartered in Naperville, Illinois. Specializing in security research and money management since 1977, the firm provides professional money management services to clients that include major corporations, public and private institutions, pension funds, insurance companies and individuals. Overseeing separately managed accounts, a family of mutual funds, and three closed end funds, Calamos Investments manages equity, convertible growth, convertible, high yield, global, and alternative investment strategies.

Calamos is seeking a highly qualified individual to join the Accounting team to be responsible for analysis and reporting related to the monthly financial statements, including preparing and submitting to management a written variation analysis on the statements. Also, this position is expected to have a high level of interaction with various department managers within the Company. Additional responsibilities include applying accounting principles, including performing requisite research, for various components of the financial statements. A strong working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and the ability to understand complex accounting issues is critical to this function.

 

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting; Certified Public Accountant preferred.  The candidate must also have a minimum five years of similar work experience, preferably in the investment management industry. Two years of public accounting experience preferred. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.  Experience in Great Plains accounting software preferred.
