GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

- Assist in updating and reconciliation of the general ledger, balance sheet and income statement information, focusing on qualitative variance analysis.

- Responsible for timely preparation of the Firm’s financial statements, accompanying schedules, and review work papers.

- Perform month-end balancing process. Monitor system balancing and investigate and correct problems in interfaces.

- Responsible for timely and accurate review of general ledger expense analyses, as assigned.

- Monitor and maintain new account checklists and listings for G/L accounts, Firm matters, and cost codes.

- Prepare various complex account analyses for financial management, as requested, using spreadsheets and other appropriate tools.

- Responsible for analyzing complex issues and transactions and preparing related journal entries, cost modifications, or matter modifications.

- Use technology and software systems and tools to collect information required to perform and document financial analyses, reconciliations, projects, month-end reports, and financial statement preparation.

- Prepare specialized reports and provide data as requested for lawyers and other managers.

- Assist in planning, implementing, and maintaining the financial information systems.

- May assist in leading and directing the work of the general accountants.

- Provide backup for the General Accountants as required.

- Complete special projects and analyses as requested by the Accounting Supervisor, Accounting Manager and Director of Finance for the overall planning and analysis of the Firm.
