Senior Accountant- Insurance- 70K! Exponential Growth!!

Due to a recent expansion there is a newly created position open for a Senior Staff Accountant at the San Diego CA location.

Company is growing rapidly and we need someone who can hit the ground running immediately!!

Senior Accountant-$65-$70K



Duties:

On a quarterly basis, handle all aspects of financial statements



Preparation of the required work product to analysis, interpretation, and explanation of results



Reconciliation of assets/liabilities to sub-ledgers and source reporting



Must be able to identify, explain and recommend best course of action for any reconciling items.



Preparation audit schedules and work papers.



From a variety of sources, accumulate and report overall underwriting results to the direct writer(s) and reinsurance companies. Must identify and explain unusual items.



Develops, implements and maintains training procedures for team members.





Required:

BS/BA Accounting/Finance/Business or similar



5-10 years progressive accounting experience



Mandatory experience with Insurance/Reinsurance



Statutory annual statement reporting



Experience with financial statement production



Strong working knowledge of preparation of financial reporting, must be able to analyze and interpret cash, statutory and GAAP statements



Must be able to analyze and interpret underwriting data. Strong reconciliation skills required.



Minimum 3 years supervisory experience of accounting professionals



Public accounting or audit experience helpful



Current, working knowledge SAP/Tax/GAAP accounting processes and procedures for insurance/reinsurance companies



Working knowledge of QuickBooks helpful



Strong working knowledge (intermediate/advanced) of Excel



Excellent written and oral communication skills
