Senior Accountant SEC for a Top Pharma Company located in Downtown, Philadelphia Description - We are seeking a Senior Accountant to assist with company-wide consolidation and preparation of all SEC filings and to assist in the research and documentation of accounting issues.Duties and Responsibilities: - Corporate Consolidation - Assist in the preparation of consolidating journal entries - Assist with review of Financial Reporting Packages received from divisions - Communicate with divisional representatives - Assist divisions with accounting inquiries - Financial Statement Analysis - Prepare high level consolidated financial statement analysis for Senior Management's review. This analysis supports the Company's quarterly/annual financial statements on Form 10-Q and 10-K and is also given to Investor Relations for their preparation of the Company's quarterly earnings - Prepare working capital analysis for presentation in Press Release - Prepare consolidated equity rollforwards - Review/prepare various rollforwards and analysis - Prepare Cash Flow Statements - Review/Record Income Tax Provisions - Preparation of Forms 10-K and 10-Q - Assist with preparation of 10-K and 10-Q - Prepare supporting work papers for certain disclosures in 10-K and 10-Q (includes footnotes and MD&A preparation) - Prepare Earnings Per Share calculation to be used in filing and earnings releaseRequirements: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting - CPA a plus - 3 to 4 years of practical experience in accounting; public accounting a plus - Proficiency in a general ledger software application (Hyperion Financial Management consolidation application a plus) - Strong PC skills with proficiency in Excel and Word; experience in other Microsoft applications If you would like to be considered for this role please submit your resume to Caroline Kaplan, carolinekaplan@spherion.com or contact Caroline directly at 610-337-1113    Built on more than 30 years of expertise, The Mergis Group is a specialty recruiting firm committed to helping professionals make the best career choices.
