Senior Accounting Manager

A. Position Purpose

Assists the Vice President of Accounting in all phases of the First Savings Bank Northwest’s accounting functions, including general ledger, ACH, Visa/Debit Card, ATM settlement, financial statements. Provide supervision and leadership to accounting department personnel. Research and assist in implementation of new products and procedures.

 B. Position Duties and Responsibilities

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

§ Provide supervision and leadership to account department personnel.

§ Manage, assist and support the accounting department personnel.

§ Compiles and analyzes financial information.

§ Create and provide additional financial reports as needed.

§ Reviews data contained in general ledger accounts and other reports to assure the accuracy and reasonableness of recorded financial transactions.

§ Provide support for accounting projects and the implementation of processes and procedures to support various initiatives for the Bank.

§ Support the ACH and Visa/Debit Card Process, including disputes and resolutions.

§ Assist and review the security investment portfolio.

§ Oversee  and assist in development of department procedures

§ Assist in audits and regulatory examinations.

§ Ensure the security and confidentiality of private customer information.

§ Protect against any anticipated threats or hazards to the security or integrity of customer information.

§ Protect against unauthorized access to or use of customer information that could result in substantial harm or inconvenience to any customer.

§ Completion of required Information Security Program, related training to include tests/quizzes.

§ Perform other duties/projects as assigned.

Functional/Technical Skills

§ Strong Excel skills and an aptitude for learning new systems.

§ Ability to work on multiple projects requiring flexibility with changing priorities.

§ Work with a variety of personalities and keeping a positive, upbeat personality and attitude.

 

Experience

§ Minimum of two years college education plus three years accounting experience.

§ Experience in the financial services industry preferred.

§ Minimum of two years in a supervisory or management capacity.

 

Education/Training

§ Minimum of two years college education plus three years accounting experience.

 

Environmental/Physical Demands

§  Ability to work on multiple projects with the flexibility for changing priorities; the ability to work with constant interruptions.
