Senior Cost Accountant

Bentley Prince Street is searching for a Senior Cost Accountant for the City of Industry facility.

 

The Senior Cost Accountant will be responsible for standard product costing in a process manufacturing environment. Duties will include: Standard cost changes, maintaining monthly inventory cost analysis for raw materials, WIP and FG, inventory revaluations.  On occasion the candidate will be required to conduct physical inventories as needed. The Senior Cost Accountant will be accountable for monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and will conduct Sarbanes Oxley compliance testing. In addition the Senior Cost Accountant will maintain raw material, WIP and FG standard cost accuracy. Carry out Ad hoc reporting as needed, credit release CBD’s (cash before delivery) orders, raw material analysis including usage and price variances. Execute Finished and WIP inventory valuation, month end closings including journal entries and manufacturing reporting.  In addition any other duties as required to maintain departmental goals.

 

Candidates will preferably have:

 Bachelor’s degree in AccountingFour years accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environmentStrong understanding of accounting fundamentals

o Application of the accounting formula effects on account balances and the corresponding effects on financial statements.

o Ability to apply the Matching Principle to financial situations

o Accruals: Experience with reversing entries

o Amortization and Depreciation

o Account Reconciliations: Experience using general ledger and subsidiary ledgers to analyze account activity.Exceptional skills in spreadsheet and mainframe usage include:

o Linking cell between worksheets and workbooks

o Ability to analyze and interpret existing spreadsheet formulas

o Data analysis tools including sorting and subtotaling (using pivot tables in Excel preferred)Work experience using the following formulas:

o Sum, Subtotal, Vlookup,Hlookup, IF/Then formulasMust be willing to work flexible hours.
