Senior Financial Analyst

 

General Description:

The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for developing and maintaining financial models of the company’s complex matrix of marketing campaigns, sales channels and business operations.  He/she will extract financial and customer data from various accounting, vendor and other databases and conduct financial analysis to identify business trends, customer behavior patterns and business opportunities.  The assessment of data will involve financial and economic modeling critical for use in strategic planning, decision making and performance improvement.

 

The Senior Financial Analyst must develop a deep and broad understanding of the significant factors that drive company profitability and proactively make recommendations to senior management, supported by robust analysis, for optimizing profit.

 

 

Job Responsibilities:

 Develop metric-driven financial models for analyzing and managing the profitability of the company’s marketing campaigns.  Analyze alternate pricing and selling strategies. Make recommendations regarding profit and cash flow optimization.Create profit analysis for proposed and existing products, campaigns, divisions and business opportunities.Create cash flow forecasts and budgets for new business initiatives and product launches.Monitor performance of product lines relative to financial models and forecasts.  Update assumptions and provide recommendations based upon available customer behavior and financial data.Develop an understanding of the business and the significant profit drivers.Develop actual and pro-forma financial models.Provide commentary and recommendations based upon work output.

 

Reporting:

The Senior Financial Analyst will report to the President.

 

Limits of Authority:

All proposed initiatives to change procedures or protocol must be approved prior to implementation.

 

Requirements:

Education:  Bachelors degree in finance, business, economics or accounting.

Experience:  A minimum of seven years of relevant financial analysis experience, preferable including experience modeling customer retention, behavior and profitability.

General:Exceptional problem solving, critical thinking and analytical skills.  Must have the demonstrated ability to understand complex interrelated key business and profit drivers.Must show exceptional attention to detail.The role requires the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment and excellent interpersonal skills.Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to work across various functions within an organization.Superior Excel financial modeling skillsProficiency with Crystal Reports and SQL Server database reporting highly desirable.
